This Privacy Policy sets out how Hazeldene’s Chicken Farm Pty Limited (ABN: 72 004 381 346) and its related bodies corporate (“Hazeldenes”, “we”, “us” or “our”). collect, use, disclose, store and otherwise handle your personal information in line with our obligations under applicable privacy laws in Australia, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) incorporating the Australian Privacy Principles.

  • in-vehicle recordings (in certain cases);

  • information contained in your application or résumé, recorded during any interview, or obtained through any pre-employment checks, and government-issued identifiers such as tax file numbers;
  • information relating to your right to work;

  • technical information and general analytics, such as web browser type and browsing preferences, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, IP address, time zone and geolocation data (if applicable), some of which is collected automatically,  arising from your use of our website and/or platforms, as well as information about your usage of our website and/or platforms when browsing.

For what purposes do we collect personal information?

Generally, we will collect, use and hold your personal information if it is reasonably necessary for or directly related to the performance of our functions or activities, including for purposes that may include: ​

  • administering our relationships with suppliers and business partners of our products and services; ​
  • supplying our products and services; ​
  • processing customer orders; ​
  • processing orders on behalf of our customers (fulfilment services) for their customers; ​
  • responding to you, where you have made a complaint, provided feedback, submitted an enquiry or requested a call-back;

How do we collect personal information?

We may collect personal information directly from you:

·         when you access or use our website;

·         when you purchase our products or services;

·         in the course of your contract or engagement with us;

·         when you enter surveys, competitions, promotions or request information or material from us;

·         when you make inquiries about us or our products or services or otherwise communicate with us by email, by telephone, in person, via a website or otherwise; and

·         when you apply to work with us or are engaged by us as a contractor.

Where it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we will only collect personal information about you from you directly and not from third parties. 

There may, however, be some instances where personal information about you will be collected indirectly because it is unreasonable or impractical to collect personal information directly from you. In those instances, we may collect personal information about you from publicly available sources (such as the Internet) and from third parties (such as mutual contacts, someone making a purchase on your behalf, your referees during our recruitment process, our suppliers or our service providers).

Can you choose not to disclose your personal information?

You do not have to identify yourself or provide any personal information if you contact us. You can also notify us that you wish to deal with us using a pseudonym.

However, if we cannot collect personal information about you, if the personal information you provide to us is incomplete or inaccurate, or if you use a pseudonym, we may be unable to provide you with the goods, services, information or assistance you require. Failure to provide all or some of the information required of a contractor may also adversely affect our ability to comply with our legal obligations or your engagement with us.

How do we protect, secure and old your personal information.​

All personal information that we collect is stored by us or our service providers. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from interference, misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including through maintaining a range of technical and organisational measures. For example, we maintain physical security over paper and electronic data stores, such as through locks and security systems at our premises. We also maintain various computer and network security, for example, we use firewalls and other industry standard security systems such as user identifiers and passwords to control access to our computer systems.

Whilst we take reasonable measures to protect, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Accordingly, you transmit your personal information to us online at your own risk and are encouraged to exercise care in sending personal information via the internet.

Where personal information we hold is no longer reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected (or as otherwise permitted by law), we delete the information or permanently de-identify it, subject to our legal obligations on retention, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

How long do we keep your personal information?

Generally, we will retain your personal information for the period necessary for the purposes for which your personal information was collected (including as outlined in this Privacy Policy), unless a longer retention period is required by law or where it is reasonably necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations, resolve a dispute, or otherwise permitted by law.

If we disclose your personal information to third parties we will use reasonable commercial efforts to ensure that such third parties only use your personal information as reasonably required for the purpose of disclosure and in a manner consistent with applicable laws, for example (where commercially practical) by including suitable privacy and confidentiality clauses in our agreement with a third party service provider to which we disclose your personal information.

Does personal information leave Australia?

We do not generally disclosure personal information outside of Australia. However, in some cases, your personal information may be disclosed and shared with third-party service providers (including data storage providers) located overseas, including in the US and Philippines. Such overseas disclosures are only made in connection with the purposes for which your personal information has been collected.

Access to personal information ​

We will provide access to that information in accordance with the Privacy Act, subject to any exemptions that may apply. We will take all reasonable steps to provide the information free of charge in most instances. However, in some circumstances there may be a fee for providing this service and we will inform you of that at the time you make the request. ​

Accuracy ​& correction of your personal information

We will take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date. If you think that the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please contact us immediately and we will take reasonable steps to correct it, where we agree that the information needs to be corrected.​ If we do not agree, you can request that we make a record of your correction request with respect to the relevant information.

You can also ask us to notify any third parties that we provided incorrect information to about the correction. We will take reasonable steps to notify those third parties.

Complaints process ​
